IN THE NEWS

April 29, 2011: Masonry Institute of Maryland announced that Tom Weaver of Advanced Masonry Systems, Inc. (AMS)  has successfully completed the course study for the Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) National Certification and has passed the test.

This accomplishment shows that in this economic environment of ever present competition, it is so important to raise your level of professionalism for the betterment of our industry as a whole. The time and effort that Tom has expended will serve him well and our masonry industry. There are many interesting and challenging best practices to be learned by any and all of us. We are very pleased Tom Weaver has stepped up and hope others will follow the lead.

"This certification process is a great way for contractors to be accountable for the quality of work we do, and the quality of the company we run," states Tom Weaver. "It is not just a one time event where you pass the test and all is forgotten.  It is first, a challenging procedure to get all the hours in, studying, passing the test, then keeping your certification current by continuing the education process. We should be accountable for what we do and how we do it, more need to follow."
